The Sony XLR-K3M is a dual-channel digital XLR audio adapter connects microphones and other audio sources to cameras that have a Multi Interface Shoe.
The adapter, which was released alongside the a7R IV, is capable of producing the highest quality by delivering a digital audio stream directly to the camera via the Multi Interface Shoe.
Other Sony cameras with the standard MI Shoe can still use the microphone because there is a digital/analog output switch.
