D2D Technologies release the D2Switch
Episode: 6-23 | Published: 08/08/2022 | Length: 10:41
About This Podcast
The reason D2D are so excited about the new D2Switch is that so many people have said to them, “You know, it would be really cool if you guys did this.”
Well, now they have! They've developed a solution that lets you switch your transport stream once it has left the station and gone “over the curve.” It’s as simple as punching a button on the switcher, and you can do it from anywhere. And you don’t even have to decode and re-encode your transport stream! It’s also a lot cheaper than solutions available on the market right now.
If you’re using SRT and the internet to send your broadcast signal to local stations across the country or around the globe, D2Switch is the perfect solution for fast, simple switching. You don’t need to spend a ton on an expensive splicer, breaking the signal out locally or at the transmitter. Instead, you can use D2Switch, which allows you to manage and automate switching through your D2Manage or D2Monitor interface.
In this interview with Jessica Colyer we find out all there is to know about the D2Switch!

Singular Live have addressed this by offering a solution that works over the internet, can be localised or regionalised easily, in any SDI, NDI or IP/cloud Workflow, includes free templates and can even encourage engagement and on KitPlusTV today we are chatting to Mike Ward about the software and benefits it provides.

Here we are joined by RISE MD Carrie Wootten and following their successful mentoring programme we are also joined by Joanna Taylor a RISE mentee.

Episode: 3-26 | Published: 19/03/2021 | Length: 15:28
About This Podcast
We speak with Paul Robson from Medialease once again to get his view on the economy and the economic recovery in general in 2021 and 2022 and what specifically it might mean for the production/ film & TV industry.
We all know the horrific levels of debt that this, and many other countries will be carrying as a result of the necessary reaction to the COVID pandemic – the numbers are £400Bn of debt for UK, so how does the country tackle this?
Businesses are most likely to settle this debt repayment in the form of higher Corporation Tax in two years and the individual is not, as yet, paying anything towards the debt – but will we?
How does it affect leasing companies like Medialease and more importantly, is there any good news in all this for our viewers? Should we invest now?

Daniel Listh is from SONY and is asking what experiences they have had since the Sony FX6 was released. Overshadowed recently by the launch of the FX3 it’s important to understand that nobody who purchased an FX6 wishes they'd held out for the FX3, but can the same be said for those that bought the A7SIII?
They cover ergonomics, audio, lens options and accessories and discuss what experiences they’ve had so far. And who would think that autofocus would a be a point of discussion in this industry!
Towards the end of the chat the trio even cover the yet to be released Experia PRO that is a 5G phone with a 4k screen and HDMI input. Could it possibly be a useful tool for camera operators? No prizes for working out who’s dog is barking!

Disruption, consolidation and taking risks in the Media Industry.
Episode: 3-14 | Published: 19/03/2021 | Length: 12:02
About This Podcast
Today we're talking market disruption, consolidation and taking risks with Mark Harrison from the DPP.
The DPP has recently drawn up some predictions for the media and content creation industry in 2021. The workforce in some areas are very keen to return to the physical workplace, which only helps collaboration in the creative industries, but doesn't save much money, which is tight right now!
We also see a disruptive element and risk taking becoming a necessity. Surviving the challenges of 2021 might need risk taking, but it will set you up for the future trends we expect once the media industry starts to see increased ad revenue again, and the LIVE crowd based events coming back! Although once people are allowed out, will they be consuming as much in the home?
Interesting insights from the DPP, a must watch if you're running a media industry business and there are more details available at www.kitplus.com/dpp2021

Episode: 3-8 | Published: 19/03/2021 | Length: 13:32
