ES Broadcast appoints Roger Bowley as a senior account manager to support group expansion?

ES Broadcast has appointed Roger Bowley as senior account manager, as part of the company’s commitment to supporting key clients across the group’s equipment sales and rental, systems integration, archiving and content services business divisions.

He joins the company from cloud services provider AWS, where he was Elemental principal sales specialist for almost five years.

The focus of Bowley’s role as senior account manager will be to work with key clients across ES Broadcast’s divisions to capture their specific requirements and develop end-to-end solutions from within the company’s expansive portfolio of services. The appointment follows ES Broadcast’s recent acquisition of archiving specialist Memnon from Sony, which further fuelled its vision for providing a comprehensive suite of solutions in a complex and fast-paced content market.

Wealth of experience across the broadcast spectrum

Roger Bowley’s experience over more than three decades in broadcast ranges from content acquisition to delivery, and has seen him amass expertise in video production, post and publishing workflow solutions including live production, editing, media asset management, playout TX and OTT, VOD and live streaming technologies. His CV boasts roles with some of the leading manufacturers and service providers in the industry.

Bowley’s early career was in telecoms and audio, initially with BT and then with SynthAxe and Reflex, where he was involved in some early innovative TV systems. He subsequently spent more than a decade in European sales roles with broadcast manufacturers Quantel and Snell & Wilcox. Spells with workflow automation specialists Marquis Broadcast and Omnibus followed, prior to heading up UK sales teams at manufacturers Miranda and Grass Valley.

Most recently Roger Bowley spent more than four years at AWS, placing him at the heart of innovative cloud-based content solutions, including cloud content distribution, OTT, live streaming and VOD delivery, aligned with wider AWS services such as storage, AI and ML (artificial intelligence and machine learning) and data analytics.

Technical knowledge key to integrating diverse service offerings

Welcoming Bowley to the company, Ben Murphy, Group CEO of ES Broadcast, said: “Roger’s range of experience in the broadcast and creative technology spheres is almost unparalleled. He has a depth of knowledge not only of traditional broadcast but of the full gamut of technology, from legacy formats to cutting-edge cloud solutions. This will be invaluable in developing complex client-focussed solutions that require the integration of services from across ES Broadcast’s various business divisions.”

Bowley himself commented: “I am delighted to be joining ES Broadcast at such an exciting time in the company’s development and look forward to partnering with our clients to supply the content solutions they need. Being able to correctly match client’s requirements for video content against their budgets and rising viewer expectations is more critical than ever and ES Broadcast has the knowledge, relationships and experience to successfully deliver those solutions.”
