KitPlus receives Special Recognition Award from the RTS

The Royal Television Society’s Thames Valley Creative Technology Centre 2022 awards were announcing this week in a hybrid ceremony streamed live by the students of New Bucks University in High Wycombe.

The Awards celebrate individuals and organisations who have made a real difference over the past year in broadcast technology this year were presented across five categories: Production, Innovation, Creative Technology, Unsung Hero and the Special Recognition Award.

The Creative Technology Award was won by Richard Lancaster from NEP UK, Kimberly Rowell from BBC Three and BBC News won the Production award, Lammie Veracruz from Mirriad Advertising received the Unsung Hero Award and finally, given at the discretion of the RTS TVC committee, the Special Recognition Award was presented to KitPlus for playing an integral part in informing the industry on the latest technology developments and trends for the last 20 years.

Commenting on the award Simon Tillyer from KitPlus said "We really did not expect this and are very proud of the whole KitPlus team. We started from an SEO web project in 2004 and have built an industry renowned platform, developed multifaceted video services and over the last 10 years have become a regular UK regional trade show for many manufacturers and 1000's of visitors. We'd like to thank the RTS for the award and also congratulate the other winners".

After presenting the award Tim Marshall OBE, Chair, RTS TVC, said: “In the face of an extremely challenging past couple of years, the industry has created innovative technological solutions to keep the television industry thriving, and we were delighted to celebrate these achievements last night in person.”
