The Collectv, the Emmy award-winning broadcast solutions and workflows consultancy - and winner of Broadcast Tech’s Team of the Year is delighted to announce the appointment of industry leader, Peter Russell, as its new Managing Director, a pivotal step in bolstering its senior leadership team as the company enters its next phase of growth.
With nearly 30 years in the industry, including 20 years of strategic, operational and technical leadership in the broadcast and production sector, Russell brings a wealth of invaluable experience to this role. Most recently, serving as Director of Technology at ITV Studios, leading global advancements in technical production across all genres including Entertainment, Factual, Drama, Daytime, Sport and News. His career highlights include spearheading the digital enablement strategy at ITV Studios, directing post production and production technology at The London Studios, and leading technology operations at GMTV.
Russell’s appointment comes as The Collectv’s executive team transitions into C-suite roles. Commercial Director (and Co-owner) Soraya Robertson steps into the new role of Chief Commercial Officer, while Managing Director (and Co-owner) Chris Sarson becomes Chief Executive Officer. Together, these changes underscore The Collectv’s commitment to a dynamic, growth-driven leadership structure to drive expansion and innovations, while reinforcing its dedication and passion for delivering high-quality solutions to clients in a continually evolving market.

In his new role, Russell will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the company, driving all business strategy and operations to maximise business potential and revenue growth. He will focus on maintaining the company’s high standards while ensuring it retains its position as a market leader. With clients at the heart of The Collectv’s mission, he will lead the team with a customer‑centric and collaborative focus, supporting the company’s growth roadmap.
Russell plays an active role in the industry, serving on the RTS Digital Innovation Board, mentoring through RTS Scholar Bursary Scheme, as Chair of the ITV Ambassadors programme, and as a passionate advocate of Rise.
