Call for Presentations Now Open for IP Showcase, 2019 NAB Show
Industry partners, the Audio Engineering Society (AES), the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the Society of Motion Picture and Technology Engineers® (SMPTE®), and the Video Services Forum (VSF) — all co-sponsors of the IP Showcase at the 2019 NAB Show — today announced a call for presentations for the event. The IP Showcase is an education and demonstration pavilion at the NAB Show in Las Vegas that will highlight the benefits of and momentum behind the move to standards-based IP for real-time professional media applications. The submission deadline for speaking proposals is Feb. 25.

With over 100 members continuing to work toward standards-based IP signal transport, the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) is attending ISE 2019 with a focus on open standards and specifications for media over COTS IT networks. AIMS will promote the adoption of open standards for video and audio in the pro AV market. Front and center is the SMPTE ST 2110 suite of standards for transporting video, audio and data, which is already in use and deployed by the media and entertainment industry.

AIMS at IBC2018
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) will return to IBC this year with its members working toward standards-based IP signal transport and an intense focus on educating the broadcast and media industry on transitioning to an IP infrastructure. This is the first IBC show since the SMPTE ST 2110 suite of standards was ratified, making this year’s show especially important not only for demonstrating real-world progress, but for explaining how all the standards and specifications work together and how best to implement them. Once again, AIMS will join fellow industry organizations in hosting the IP Showcase, making it the destination for presentations, product displays, and interoperability demonstrations for the migration from SDI to IP that has become a staple at major trade shows since IBC2016.
