Media technology innovator Limecraft will exhibit the latest updates to its online platform on stand G79 at the 15-16 May 2024 Media Production & Technology Show, London Olympia.
The latest update to Limecraft’s platform will be released on 7 May and includes enhancements to the Delivery Workspace supply chain management solution, helping improve the content delivery process and the communication flow between content suppliers and recipients. New features are also being added to the subtitling fabric that will make it easier for subtitle professionals to adapt and modify subtitles for use across other distribution channels.
“Some of the work we’ve done around subtitling is very complex and will be highly valuable to customers,” comments Head of Product Nico Oorts. “This next release will enable subtitles to be automatically aligned to shot changes, eliminating a great deal of manual alteration. A further refinement adjusts imported subtitles for different frame rates and timecodes, removing the need for frustrating manual intervention and rework.”
The number of subtitle formats supported is also extended in this release, and a new Automatic Speaker Colouring Mode is being introduced to intelligently manage how subtitle colours are applied to different speakers.
Limecraft has additionally enhanced its Delivery Workspace solution to increase content delivery robustness and security. A new Activity Feed displays an audit trail of all activity around individual pieces of content, and a new comments feature helps provide greater context around key exchanges (such as submit, approve, reject) between content suppliers and recipients.
“Looking further forward, a key area of focus for us is the further development of Media Intelligence, our media-centric take on AI,” adds Limecraft co-founder Maarten Verwaest. “We were the first company in the industry to integrate AI into a customer-facing solution. We have already delivered a great deal of value when it comes to analysing video and audio content and building out metadata, empowering industry professionals to find, use and monetise content more efficiently.
“The next stage will see us applying video and audio content to our Media Intelligence engine and using the engine’s logic to return much more comprehensive and meaningful information. When it comes to the issue of metadata, we firmly believe that quality is far more important than quantity. More isn’t always better. We are committed to giving our customers the most detailed view of their content at the right levels of granularity. We will be previewing these forthcoming developments at MPTS 2024 and look forward to discussing them with attendees.”
