Ikegami Showcases Latest TV Production Innovations at IBC 2025

Ikegami reports a successful IBC 2025 show, held at its usual Amsterdam RAI location September 12-15. Making their IBC debut were the new UHL-X40 ultra-compact camera, UHK-X700RF wireless camera and VFE-P711AD 7-inch OLED viewfinder. Also new was the IPX-100 extension unit following its appearance in prototype at IBC 2024.

Located at its usual position in Hall 12, the Ikegami stand was this year configured in a completely new design based on the theme of a football stadium. Almost all cameras in Ikegami’s broadcast product range were on display, including the UNICAM UHK-X700, UHK-X600 and HDK-X500. The cameras were shown ‘mid-field’. A separate section of the stand was configured as the director’s area of an outside broadcast vehicle. This gave visitors the opportunity to use the OCP-500, OCP-300 and MCP-300 remote control panels along with the VCP virtual control panel. Also on display was Ikegami’s entire monitor range including the HQLM-3125X, HQLM-3120W, HQLM-1720WR, HLM-2460WA, HLM-1860WR, HLM-960WR and ULE-217AR.

“Our new VFE-P711AD viewfinder, announced shortly before the show, attracted a lot of interest,” says Gisbert Hochguertel, Ikegami Europe product specialist. “A 7-inch high resolution OLED model compatible with all UNICAM-XE and UNICAM-HD cameras, it offers high quality color reproduction combined with high brightness, high contrast ratio and fast response time. Features include a waveform monitor and vectorscope, audio level metering, front-facing green/red tally indicators and a rear-facing red tally. Versions are available for fixed and pan/tilt mounting on a portable camera head with ENG lens, on a system expander for box lens applications, and for enhanced pan/tilt operation on a studio camera head.”

“IBC this year reflected the accelerating need for maximum production efficiency and versatility throughout the television content production and transmission workflow,” adds Michael Laetzsch, manager of Ikegami Europe’s Broadcast & Professional Video division. “The UHL-X40 was developed to meet exactly these requirements both for robotic operation in studio configurations such as newsrooms and for remotely controlled coverage of events such as theatre productions and stadium sports. The new UHK-X700RF wireless camera offers the freedom to establish single or multiple video contributions from unusual locations at very short notice. It is ideal for applications such as sports, news reporting, documentary and free-style drama production. IP connectivity also continues to be in strong demand as evidenced by strong interest in our IPX-100 extension unit which is now available with software options including JPEG-XS compression, SDI gateway and HD-UHD upscaling.”
