DHD is expanding the capabilities of its DX2, RX2, SX2 and TX2 broadcast audio mixers, RM1 portable production unit and XC3/XD3/XS2 processing cores with the introduction of Firmware 10.4. Exhibiting on Central Hall booth C3132 at the April 18th - 22nd NAB Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center, DHD will also introduce four new API-related features, plus the Routing Web App and RM1 Pro broadcast-from-anywhere studio-quality audio production system.
"The April NAB Show is a great opportunity for potential customers from North America, LATAM and Asia Pacific to get their hands directly on DHD products and talk with our representatives," says Christoph Gottert, international sales manager. "We also look forward to meeting existing clients and demonstrating the expanded features in our latest firmware."
DHD Firmware 10.4
Firmware 10.4 introduces three new configuration capabilities: Flex Channels, Mic Preamp Control and Channel Categories:
• Flex Channels allows access to more signals within the system. Source selection is performed from a pre-assigned input source list rather than from the pool of fader channels.
• Mic Preamp Control enables the A-Gain value of a microphone input to be set at any time without the need for assignment to a fader. The console's touchscreen, the Views App or the API can be used to change the A-Gain parameter.
• Channel Categories are provided for fader channels. This allows the input source list to be filtered for specific signals.
Also new in Firmware 10.4 are four API-related features:
• New Control API for DHD AES67 interfaces: This allows secured connections using Tokens and HTTPS, enabling complete control over the stream parameters and interface settings. The format is similar to the already-released Control API for DHD cores.
• DHD Control API is now available as a Bitfocus Companion plug-in for the Elgato Stream Deck. It elevates the Stream Deck and similar devices into professional control surfaces for an extensive range of equipment and applications. A Stream Deck plug-in is also available for the DHD RM1 portable all-in-one audio production and broadcast system.
• TypeScript Library for DHD Control API on the Cores provides a function set for integration of DHD Control API in third-party software.
• Go Library for easy integration of DHD Control API in 3rd party software. This allows developers to build applications that interact with DHD devices, enabling seamless control and automation. The library is open-source under the MIT license, ensuring flexibility for a wide range of use cases. It is available now at https://github.com/dhd-audio.
DHD Routing Web App
DHD's Routing Web App allows incoming sources and output ports to be securely assigned, viewed and managed by a nominated operator situated locally or remotely. HTML5-based, it runs directly on the web server integrated within the DHD processing core. Individual crosspoint matrices can be created and displayed graphically or as an input/output list. Matrix configurations can be stored as presets for fast selection and recall. The Routing Web App expands the range of DHD Web Apps to six, including the Assist App, Labels App, Snapshot App, System App and Views App. Each can be activated on a license basis.
RM1 Pro broadcast-from-anywhere audio production system
DHD's RM1 Pro is a complete studio-quality audio production system in a desktop unit measuring only 210 x 185 x 44 mm (8.3 x 7.3 x 1.8 inches) WDH and weighing just 1 kg (2.2 pounds). Based on the entry-level RM1, RM1 Pro has an extended toolset for use in remote or onsite broadcast contribution, live news production, web radio and podcasting. Features include AD/DA interfacing, audio preamps, 48 volt phantom power for condenser microphones, Bluetooth audio, Dante 4x4, audio mixing, EQ and dynamics. AutoMix mode can be used to balance incoming audio channels automatically. RM1 Pro can be remotely integrated with DHD infrastructure located at a host studio. Logic commands can be exchanged with other DHD devices for talkback or on-air signaling. Users also gain access to individual DHD Toolbox configurations plus the ability to create an RM1 Pro user interface tailored to their workflow, including loudness-metering functionality. Options such as DHD remote faders allow RM1 Pro channels to be controlled from another DHD system or vice versa.
DHD audio GmbH develops and produces digital audio studio equipment and systems for professional applications in broadcast control rooms, DJ-operated radio studios, OB trucks, SNG vans, ingest stations and edit suites. DHD also produces routing and talkback matrices, audio-over-IP interfaces, and supporting software. DHD devices can be operated directly or under IP networked control. Designed and manufactured in Germany, DHD products are used successfully by broadcasters around the globe.
