BCE to Showcase Media-as-a-Service at IBC2024

Broadcasting Center Europe SA (BCE), a leading European media services, system integration and software development provider, has today announced it will showcase its groundbreaking Media-as-a-Service at IBC2024. Delivered as a flexible, online platform, it enables users to quickly gain clarity and control of their media services by choosing from a range of apps on a fast, simple, and secure online platform.

Visitors to the BCE stand (Hall 10, C21) can preview the Media-as-a-Service platform ahead of its official launch in early 2025. Additionally, visitors can experience demonstrations of Holovox for remote commentary and live event accessibility, Playit for cloud-based TV channel management, Freecaster for streaming live events and VOD content and NxP for content exchange and distribution.

Offered as a one-stop shop, customers can choose products and services that align with their media activities, experiment with new technologies and adapt to emerging trends without the need for significant investments or complex infrastructure investment.

Holovox, Playit, Freecaster and NxP – a transformative media services portfolio

Holovox is a remote commentary solution that enables the addition of one or multiple voice-over streams to live shows from anywhere in the world. This user-friendly cloud platform gives commentators complete control over their upcoming events, allowing them to delegate tasks to their teams and effortlessly go live.

At IBC2024, BCE will discuss the implementation of Holovox by Sportall, the marketplace for all sports rights holders who want to distribute and monetise their images, who use it to enhance live commentaries of its sports events. BCE will also announce details of a significant new contract with the Basketball Champions League (BCL), which will adopt Holovox to significantly enhance its remote voice-over capabilities.

Playit offers a cloud-based playout solution designed for the effortless and flexible management of TV channels. This product allows customers to launch thematic or pop-up channels seamlessly, broadcast content globally and integrate live events across various platforms.

Freecaster is a user-friendly streaming platform that excels in managing both live events and VOD (Video-on-Demand) content. Users can effortlessly manage and enhance their content through Freecaster’s intuitive interface. The platform facilitates easy distribution of VOD content across multiple platforms and supports the streaming of live events in various formats, including social networks. Recent highlights include coverage of major fashion events by world-famous brands, including Hermes, Loewe, and Louis Vuitton.

NxP aims to revolutionise content management, sharing, and distribution across all media types, offering unmatched efficiency and control. This versatile platform connects contributors, partners, members, and organisations, including ENEX and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which already rely on NxP for news distribution. With a modern interface and an integrated Exchange Cloud Agent, NxP ensures fast, secure, and efficient global content delivery, making it the ideal solution for any type of media.

“BCE’s presence at IBC 2024 demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing cutting-edge media solutions that address the evolving needs of the industry,” said Frédéric Fiévez, Chief Operating Officer. “From enhancing live broadcasts with remote voice-over capabilities, managing TV channels flexibly, streaming live events and VOD content seamlessly or revolutionising content exchange, our Media-as-a-Service portfolio is a highly innovative way for organisations to enhance their media operations and achieve their business objectives.”
