Wireless live streaming capability unlocked by Sony
Sony has announced new functionality that will allow newsgatherers to wirelessly stream live footage directly from cameras as they shoot, in a move set to radically speed up production workflows. Building on Sonys wireless technology, several of the PXW-series XDCAM camcorders[1] will now be capable of streaming footage live, while Sonys CBK-series wireless adapters[2] will be able to unlock live streaming for any camera with an SDI connection.

Sony has today announced that its Super 35mm NEX-FS700 camera was used to shoot high-octane racing documentary Journey to Le Mans. Two of Sonys 4K-capable NXCAM camcorders were supplied by broadcast and professional solutions provider CVP to capture the excitement and drama of the race, as well as interviews with the Jota Sport team. Shooting in 4K, for HD playout, the NEX-FS700 was chosen for its versatility and the cinematic image quality produced by the Exmor CMOS sensor.

Reality show Utopia brought to life by Sony

Utopia, the new reality TV show the world is talking about, is set to hit Turkish television screens soon, having been captured using Sony technology. Acer Media chose Sony's professional products to produce the show for TV8, which will be available to view both online and via televisions. The show, originally developed in the Netherlands, follows the lives of 15 competitors, who are filmed as they live together in a remote uninhabited area where they have to build a community from scratch. The competition will take place over 10 months, with the camera crews and production teams also living in the same remote location, using Sony technology to deliver a superior audio and visual experience.
