RT equips its London studios with RTS The two London production studios of Russian television station RT have been equipped with an RTS intercom system. For studio communications, system integrator CVP installed a Zeus III matrix along with RTS keypanels. The RTS intercom system in the gallery is connected to portable Kenwood radios for studio support personnel. The combination of RTS keypanels and intercom as well as portable radios enables communication between the studio director and studio personnel such as floor managers, cameramen, makeup artists and program support staff.

Leading medical congress ensures communication with RTS and OMNEO

EuroPCR, the official congress of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), is the leading annual course in interventional and cardiovascular medicine. Held 2014 at the Palais Des Congrs in Paris, the four-day event drew more than 12 000 visitors. Additionally to talks, the possibility to network and to learn the latest regarding research and development, the EuroPCR also consists of live transmissions of cardiologic surgery and communication with distant heart specialists. The main theater, four main meeting rooms and dozens of smaller meeting rooms all received live satellite feeds from cardiologic surgery performed in 17 remote hospital centers worldwide. In total, 80 hours of surgery are transmitted from operating rooms in Europe, the Middle East and Asia over the course of the congress.

Bulgarian TV reality show with Zeus III matrix from RTS

The reality TV format The Mole has proved extremely popular in Bulgaria. The concept, not unlike that of Big Brother, involves the participants including in some cases celebrities, such as the former basketball star Dennis Rodman living together for an extended period, in this case twelve weeks, during which time their every movement is captured by over 60 cameras that spy on them tirelessly round the clock. The recently broadcast Bulgarian final was watched by over 500,000 viewers, winning the channel in question, TV7, a 78 per cent share of the market among the target group of greatest interest to advertisers.

Based in Bratislava, the Slovak Philharmonic is the leading symphony orchestra in Slovakia. Since the early 1950s, the orchestra has resided in the Reduta Bratislava, which was constructed in 1773. In 2011 and 2012, the centrally located Baroque building, which is capable of accommodating audiences of up to 700, underwent a thorough renovation that included modernisation of all the buildings electrical systems.

An elite group of around 40 Norwegian broadcast specialists participated in the post-IBC event in Stavanger, Norway on September 27th and 28th. The two-day event, hosted by AVIT-Systems, was centered on up-to-date broadcast technology presented at the IBC three weeks prior. The objective of the meeting was to give regional customers the chance to familiarize themselves with the latest equipment.

HD OB truck Starbird takes off with intercom systems from RTS

In Ukraine, the first high-definition outside broadcast vehicle to have been designed and equipped entirely by Ukrainian engineers has just commenced service. The truck, which is named Starbird, is a cooperative venture by the film production company Star Media and the systems integration specialists Engineer Service of Kiev. On board the truck are a Zeus III matrix as well as KP32CLD, KP12CLD and DKP16CLD keypanels from RTS. With the new truck comes the possibility, according to Dmitry Prikordonny, President of Engineer Services, for Ukrainian broadcasters to deliver sporting events and live shows in HD quality.

Egypts first HD channel relies on RTS TELEX

With a massive new program of investment in its Nile TV International channel, which first went on air in 1994, Egyptian state television has prepared the way for the country's first-ever broadcasts in HD quality. As part of the program, two of the channel's studios have been completely redesigned and reequipped. Work on the project, now in its practice-oriented test phase, was completed in 2010. The task of specifying and installing an intercom system for the new studios was entrusted to the Egyptian company System Design, which cooperated with RTS/TELEX's Egyptian partner Manial Business Center (MBC Broadcast) regarding the systems design.

RTS is pleased to present the new Zeus III LE+ compact digital intercom matrix at IBC 2011, a product that supersedes the popular Zeus and Zeus II matrix frames, taking their unique combination of connectivity and value to the next level.

Compact Connectivity
Offering 16 channels IN/OUT and two configurable party line interface channels, Zeus III LE+ offers more options for smaller-scale applications. Ethernet and serial ports on the units back panel allow it to be configured from virtually anywhere on a network using AZedit Intercom configuration software, while a USB port on the front panel offers direct access with AZedit. The system also has 16 standard RJ45 connectors, making it easier to connect an intercom system with audio lines and keypanels by keeping the RTS wiring scheme. In addition, the two built-in relays can be used to control lighting or to key remote transmitters and paging systems, etc.
