Voddler Group appoints industry veteran Marwan Shehab to drive MEA expansion from new Dubai office

Voddler Group, the cloud-streaming innovator, has appointed Marwan Shehab as its new head of Middle East & Africa (MEA) operation effective January  3, 2017. Based out of Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai, where Voddler has opened a new office, Shehab is tasked with driving the companys expansion in the region, where several significant deals are already in the pipeline.

Shehab is an industry veteran who has previously held strategic pay-TV platform development roles, most recently advising on video strategy at the Dubai based telecommunication company - du. Prior to that, Shehab held the role of content management and platforms director at the telecommunications investment firm Emirates International Telecommunications (EITL), where he managed pay-TV development strategies for its operating companies.

Marwan is a highly respected and connected individual, which makes him a fantastic addition to Voddlers team as we expand our reach in the MEA region, said Adam Lewis, CEO of Voddler Group. He brings with him extensive knowledge of the region stemming from a broad range of experience across the telecommunications, Pay TV and OTT spaces, which will directly benefit our customers.

Shehab, who also held a variety of specialised sales and consultancy roles within the industry across the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States, holds a Bachelor Degree in radio and television communications from The George Washington University.

Viewer experience is the number one priority for Voddler in the MEA region, where OTT services are faced with an extremely high demand for mobile content consumption, commented Lewis. VoddlerNet¢, our flagship product, not only provides service quality improvements across all networks, but it also offers specific functionalities that allow additional support on mobile devices without impairing performance. We look forward to seeing VoddlerNet used by more OTT service providers in the region to guarantee the best quality viewing experience to all their subscribers, and in particular those who are using mobile devices to access content.

VoddlerNet is a unique hybrid peer-assisted video streaming solution that greatly expands the reach of streaming video services, while maintaining the highest bitrate and quality of service possible, to drive subscriber loyalty and reduce the cost of video streaming. An easy to integrate overlay on existing or new VOD services, it helps customers reach poorly or under connected viewers and guarantees a quality viewing experience. VoddlerNet is DRM agnostic, endorsed by Hollywood studios for its security, and supports any VOD and OTT platforms and integrated technologies.  VoddlerNet, broadcast quality everywhere, all the time.

DoPchoice Intros SNAPBOX Light Controller for Flex and Tile Style Lights Posted: 21/08/2017

DoPchoice, makers of quick, easy and lightweight light shaping tools are continually expanding their portfolio and range of existing products for a wide range of lighting fixtures. DoPchoices big product introduction at IBC will be our SNAPBOX¢. Lighting professionals are turning to flexible LED mats or tiles to provide large, powerful and economical sources of soft light. To control these lights and to soften their output, DoPchoice has developed the SNAPBOX, a quick to deploy diffusion box that literally snaps up in seconds. The SNAPBOX stretches white Magic Cloth¢ fabric in front of the light source, which results in a smooth, uniform and leak-free light output. And its versatile side panels add an extra dimension of illumination control. The SNAPBOX folds down into a small bag for easy transportation.

Hudson Spider to premier worlds first parabolic LED Posted: 21/08/2017

Premiering at IBC to the European film and broadcast industry, the Redback from Hudson Spider is the worlds first parabolic layout of LEDs for film lighting. The Redback spider creates beautiful, directional soft light without the need for diffusion, bounce or flags. Photographers have long bounced light into umbrellas with flash, but until now, this quality of soft light has proved impossible to bring to constant lighting utilising LEDs. Hudson Spider's prototypes are already becoming workhorses on the biggest film and TV sets worldwide. The 36 Redback edition is the first model in the highly anticipated Hudson Spider range. Additional diffusions also come as part of the kit.
