Autodesk Accelerates Creative Workflows With Real-Time Data Streaming From Maya to Unreal Engine

Autodesk, in collaboration with Epic Games, has released a new Unreal Live Link for Autodesk® Maya® plugin, enabling seamless real-time animation data streaming from Maya to Epic’s Unreal Engine. Ideal for virtual production, game development, and previsualization workflows, the Live Link plugin allows artists to easily create and edit character assets in Maya, while simultaneously seeing live previews in Unreal. Effortless data transfer between Maya and Unreal speeds production workflows by enabling artists to produce more iterations and view changes in real-time to make more informed decisions, ultimately resulting in expedited project delivery.

Mo-Sys takes virtual production to a truer focus

Mo-Sys Engineering, world leader in precision camera tracking solutions for virtual production, has solved a major creative limitation when using an LED volume for virtual production. Cinematographers who needed to pull focus between real foreground objects – such as actors – and virtual objects displayed on an LED wall – such as a car - have been unable to do this as the lens focal plane stops at the LED wall, meaning the car always remains out of focus.

Polygon Labs Clients Including Verizon Media Create Sophisticated Unreal Engine Projects Using Creative Hub Service

Polygon Labs, an innovative studio pushing the boundaries of interactive data applications and visual branding, is highlighting the success of Creative Hub, its remote, on-demand creative and professional services platform.

Since its launch in April 2020, many of Polygon Labs’ clients have used Creative Hub to produce their remote virtual studio productions, with no need for physical cameras, tracking devices or green screens. All human interaction happens remotely, bringing the presenters into the set via live video stream. This exact set up was used last month by popular Verizon Media-owned tech news publisher, Engadget for its CES 2021 virtual studio presentations. Polygon Labs worked closely with Michelle Kratchman, Creative Director/Head of Art and AR/VR Design at Verizon Media and her creative team to design a virtual studio environment that could be used as a fully remote production set to present products, interview guests and to discuss consumer trends.
