JVC CONNECTED CAM Provides COVID-era Solution for Forum Communications

For Fargo, North Dakota-based ABC affiliate Forum Communications (WDAY-TV), the pandemic meant finding new ways to significantly streamline operations while maintaining regular sports and events coverage. With social distancing measures in place, the media company had to alter its workflow in order to still broadcast WDAY’s high school game of the week segment without a large crew and multiple cameras. The team found the solution they were looking for with the GY-HC500SPCU Sports Production and Coaching camera, part of the CONNECTED  CAM™ line from JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation.

Lyon Video, a video broadcasting and production company based in Columbus, Ohio, has purchased 10 FOR-A FA-9600 multi-purpose signal processors for Lyon-14, a 53-foot expando OB truck that is being used for a 13-game NCAA Division I college football package during the 2021 season. While the FA-9600s will be used for sports this fall, the long-term plan is to have them in place for a variety of productions.

CJP Broadcast Completes 4K-UHD Virtual Studio for University of Sunderland

CJP Broadcast announces the completion of a new 4K-UHD virtual studio for the University of Sunderland. The system includes a Mo-Sys StarTracker Studio with a camera tracking unit, wireless-linked handheld StarTracker Viewfinder and Cartoni JibO lightweight jib. CJP Broadcast has also provided and integrated Kinoflow Diva Lite 401 LED luminares and a Zero 88 FLX S24 lighting control desk, plus high-grade green-screen walls and flooring. The studio itself has a 6 x 6 metre floor area and is 4 metres high. Installed at the university’s David Puttnam Media Centre, the new resource gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience in latest-generation virtual studio production techniques.
