Soul Kitchen Creative adopt Quicklink Studio (ST55) for gathering high-quality remote contributions

Soul Kitchen Creative, a leading creative boutique production company, have adopted the Quicklink Studio (ST55) solution for gathering high-quality remote contributions to be used in high-profile client projects.

Requiring a high-quality remote contribution solution, Soul Kitchen Creative chose the Quicklink Studio (ST55) solution for gathering remote contributions when producing productions for high-profile clients such as History Channel, Warner Music, Peacock Network, CBS, Nickelodeon and more.

“Quicklink’s solution was a godsend when we first began using it. We had experimented with several different call-in systems with varying degrees of success. Ultimately, we needed the best quality call-in system that also allowed us to send the clean video feeds out to iso recorders that were not software based” said Michael Scalere, Creative Director at Soul Kitchen Creative.

Michael added; “Furthermore, the Quicklink Manager portal meant that we did not need to have a Talent Producer on site. Remote clients could greet talent independently of our studio should they need to. Overall the Quicklink solutions solved all our production pinch points while providing superior image quality”

One recent event that the Quicklink solutions was used for was a panel discussion project to be played at New York’s Comic Con event in October. Soul Kitchen Creative were tasked by Peacock Network to produce three separate panel discussions, all with talent calling in from their homes and offices. For this project, Soul Kitchen Creative enlisted Quicklink’s Studio solution to facilitate a call between 9 panellists and an Entertainment Journalist moderator. The Quicklink solutions enabled Soul Kitchen Creative to have complete remote management of all panellists, while obtaining discrete high-quality audio and HD video from each of the panellists.

Soul Kitchen Creative were also tasked by biopharmaceutical company Merck to remotely produce their annual Merck for Mothers event. In what was an in-person event prior to COVID, Soul Kitchen were tasked with producing four panels of healthcare pioneers from around the world including the former Prime Minister of New Zealand – completely virtually. As the COVID pandemic and regulations prohibited participants to gather together, the Quicklink Studio solution was used to gather high-quality ISO recordings and assist in bringing the Merck for Mothers event to life.

Michael explained their experience of using the Quicklink solutions; “Our clients expect the highest production quality possible, even from webcams. The quality of Quicklink Studio calls are second to none. One client told us that we were the only company to provide broadcast-quality video from their talent’s bedrooms. Soul Kitchen Creative exists to provide our clients what they need, then set out to exceed those expectations. We solve problems, and Quicklink solved ours”

The Quicklink Studio (ST55) solution works within a simple web browser, with no apps or software installs required by the contributor. Contributors can be invited via SMS, WhatsApp, email or by generating a simple URL link. From the Quicklink Manager, an operator is able to remotely control and configure the contributor’s device camera, microphone and speaker settings.

Utilising the recently released Carbon Calculator tool, the amount of CO2 emissions avoided by contributing using the Quicklink solutions is calculated and displayed for both the remote contributor and operators. Through intuitive reports, Soul Kitchen Creative and other Quicklink Studio users can track their carbon savings in a simple interface, compare benchmarks and identify important levers for reduction over time.
