ROTOLIGHT WIN THIRD CONSECUTIVE BID WITH ITALIAN STATE BROADCASTER, RAI

Rotolight, award-winning British LED lighting manufacturer, has announced that it has successfully won its third tender in under 18 months with Italian state broadcaster, RAI. RAI have joined leading broadcasters around world including ITV, who recently used over 30 Anova PRO’s on hit show Dancing on Ice, as well as BBC and Sky as the light of choice on various television productions.
RAI’s new Rotolight AEOS kits will join their existing collection of Anova PROs, AEOS two-light kits and NEO 2 three-light kits, totalling 225 lights overall, and are being utilised by RAI worldwide for a variety of applications both in studio and for ENG. Whilst providing a powerful light output, Rotolight LEDs deliver best-in-class power to consumption ratios leading to lower operating costs in-studio and fewer batteries needed on location.
RAI, who produce and broadcast a large variety of content including dramas, documentaries and sports programming, sought state of the art LED lighting technology and Rotolight’s award-winning product range was the leading choice. Rotolight offers a range of industry-first features to enhance creativity on set including AccuColour™ technology resulting in outstanding colour reproduction (CRI 96, TLCI 91) reducing time in post-production. For drama and film production, the Rotolight range comes equipped with CineSFX™; a suite of built-in, customisable lighting FX (fire, lightning, TV, etc.).
“RAI had incredibly strict technical requirements for their LED lighting kits. Having evaluated several lighting manufacturers, the Rotolight Anova PRO, AEOS and NEO 2 kits were found to represent the very best in terms of value, quality and functionality all-in-one.” Mauro Turchetta, sales manager for BluTek, one of the leading broadcast integrators in Italy who specialise in the supply chain of new media and post-production equipment.
A key requirement of RAI’s was to have the best build quality available to ensure the reliability of operation over time and, being hand assembled in the UK at Pinewood Studios, Rotolight are widely known for the superior standard of their products and outstanding customer service.
“We are delighted to win this third tender from RAI, with Rotolight now forming an integral part of their lighting kit for live broadcast, drama and documentary shooting. With this latest order, RAI continue to see the unique combination of industry-first features, build quality and value that Rotolight offers, with our entire product range now being used globally. We look forward to continuing our growing relationship with RAI, and BluTek who have seamlessly managed the integration and continue to offer service and support locally,” says Rod Aaron Gammons, managing director of Rotolight.
