NMR Events adopts Quicklink Studio to include remote speakers in virtual events

NMR Events, a creative technology partner for corporate events and tradeshows, has adopted the Quicklink Studio solution to incorporate seamless remote contributions from high-profile clients such as AT&T, Samsung and many more.

As the COVID-19 pandemic spread, NMR Events transitioned into a completely virtual event workflow. As a result, they turned to Quicklink as the chosen call ingest solution to receive high-quality, ultra-low latency audio and video from speakers and presenters.

The Quicklink Studio (ST55) enables NMR Events to gather high-quality remote contributions from a laptop or mobile device with no apps or software installations required. Contributors can be invited using an operator generated, shareable URL link. From the Quicklink Manager, the operator is then able to remotely control and configure the contributor’s camera, microphone, speaker settings, resolution, data bandwidth and latency if required.

“Where Quicklink really shines is with the tools for presenter onboarding and management. The ability to assign unique presenter links with timed validity in advance provides our end users with confidence and comfort. The simple and guided joining experience allows for even the most non-technical participants to join with ease,” said Jonathan Joyce, Senior Technician at NMR Events.

One of the larger projects that Quicklink Studio (ST55) was used for was a virtual awards show. For this project, it was a requirement that award-winners could be easily promoted into the program without any preparation or onboarding. With the ease-of-use, dependability and Assisted Invite mode, the winners joined via link and were organised into a virtual waiting room where they could see and hear the live program audio and video. As the winners were announced, they were swiftly moved to a live on-air channel, enabling NMR to capture the initial reactions and maintain authenticity.

The Quicklink solutions were provided to Signature by Key Code Media, a US-based systems integrator for audiovisual, broadcast, and post-production solutions.

Jonathan continued: “The team at Quicklink worked diligently with us to improve the product and develop solutions that meshed well with and enhanced both the studio and presenter workflow and experience. In addition, Key Code Media played a significant role in not only the purchasing process but the communications and support we needed throughout our relationship with Quicklink”.

To allow for flexibility in their workflow, NMR also built a mobile ‘on-the-road box’ in portable rack format. With the constant demand for Quicklink solutions, the ‘on-the-road box’ can be easily relocated to any of NMR’s eight control suites and effortlessly tied in via SDI or NDI to the chosen studio’s infrastructure.

“The Quicklink Studio quality is great and the ability to output native to SDI is a huge advantage. This allows for scalability as well as seamless integration into our existing systems,” added Jonathan.
