IBC Preview: Social media interaction, rendering innovations, flexible video management and new mapping capabilities among highlights for Vizrt

At IBC 2012, Vizrt Ltd will exhibit in Hall 7, Booth A10 September 7-11th at the RAI Exhibition and Congress Centre in Amsterdam. Vizrt will introduce several new innovations and demonstrate a cohesive approach to social media interaction.

Sony opens up the power of SRMASTER workflow to a wider audience with the launch of the SR-D1 Memory Drive Unit

Sony has announced the launch of the SR-D1, a compact, affordable and easy to use Memory Drive Unit which opens up the power of F65RAW and SStP workflow to a much wider audience. The SR-D1 is the latest addition to Sonys SRMASTER family and has been designed for drag and drop ingest of content from SRMemory media recorded using cameras such as the revolutionary F65/SR-R4 and the PMW-F3 with SR-R1.

The SR-D1 is equipped with a USB3.0 and eSATA interface for direct connection to a computer.  Installation of SR-Driver software onto the computer brings the ability to drag and drop files from SRMemory media using Explorer or Finder.  Clips can also be browsed before transfer using Sonys F65RAW Viewer or SR Viewer applications.

Peter Sykes, Strategic Marketing Manager, Sony Europe commented; By expanding the SRMASTER line up were making the power of SRMemory operation more accessible across applications such as on-set dailies or post production. Sony announces IP transmission system for live HD video production

As part of Sonys continuing effort to bring IP technology into the world of video production, Sony has developed the NXL-IP55, a video network unit that can transfer multiple HD image signals, audio signals and control signals over a single network cable. These units may be used, for example, when filming in a theatre or stadium, whereby images are transmitted simultaneously from multiple cameras with as minimal delay time as possible. The NXL-IP55 can keep latency to within a single field while sending data streams from multiple cameras over the network cable.
