Libec used this year's Las Vegas show to launch a new range of highly cost-effective fluid-head tripods and to show important improvements to its established advanced tripod systems.
Curtain Raised on New Tripod Range
Libec used NAB to demonstrate its brand new LX system, a very low cost professional tripod with a fluid head. Shares the same tripod legs as the prestigious Libec RS range for outstanding rigidity and an impressive payload of 4kg (LX5) and 8kg (LX7). Its drag system is particularly refined: it allows camera operators to trace every motion from start to finish thanks to its supreme torque system. Counter-balancing is accurate and pan and tilt movements are very smooth. A high-grade spreader either floor level or mid-level - with large rubber feet is included with the standard package. Each model features a two-stage 75mm tripod system with a ball diameter of75mm. Both weigh a mere 5.5kg.
In all the LX tripod system offers truly professional performance and the best value." Said Nick Allen-Miles of Libec's European distributor, Ianiro International. Despite its portable credentials, it's supremely rigid and will help deliver very steady pictures. It allows directors to trace every motion from start to finish and thanks to its torque system, camera angles can be achieved and held with great precision.
The LX5 is available at £362; the LX7 at £450 from resellers across Europe.
Advanced "RS" Tripod System now with upgraded functions
Also unveiled at NAB were all-new RS models. Originally designed to work even in extreme environments - down to -40 degrees - the upgraded systems have been developed to be even more versatile and user-friendly. All models are now equipped with a new extendable panhandle with rubber grips for precise camera movements. In addition, all RS fluid heads are now equipped with LED illuminated bubble levels for easy level adjustments in the dark.
What's more, the acclaimed RS-450R and RS-450RM tripods have undergone further important development. They can now extend up to 173cm/68" in length when using a Libec floor spreader. Also, a highly developed durable RC-50 padded soft case is now included with both RS-450R and RS-450RM tripod systems.
The RS Series is beautifully engineered to exacting professional requirements. The new features will cement their reputation for being top performers in all conditions. Concluded Allen-Miles.
Prices for the RS series range from £699 to £1,199. All versions are available through resellers.
