The IABM Announces Winners of 2012 Peter Wayne Award and IABM Awards for Excellence in Design and Innovation

 The IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) today announced that Timecode Buddy from Timecode Systems Ltd has been judged the top entry for the 2012 IABM Awards for Design and Innovation, earning the prestigious IABM Peter Wayne Award, as well as an IABM Award for Excellence. Each of the four other finalists -- Canon, Civolution, Glensound Electronics, and Sony -- have earned an IABM Award for Excellence. All awards were presented at the IABM's awards reception on Saturday, Sept. 8.

Sony produces the first ever X Games in 3D

IBC, Amsterdam, 7 September 2012 (Hall 12, stand 12.A10) Sony has announced that since the launch of its 3D-capable BRAVIA TV, it has worked with ESPN to produce X Games Los Angeles 2012 in 3D. ESPN is the largest sports cable channel in the United States and a division of The Walt Disney Corporation. Before collaborating together to produce the X Games in 3D, ESPN has previously worked with Sony to produce some of the worlds most famous sporting events including the FIFA World Cup, NCAA football, NBA matches and the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. These programs are available to more than 60 million homes in the United States via Comcast Xfinity TV, Bright House Networks, Verizon FioS TV, DIRECTV and Time Warner Cable.

The TV station is part of the national TV2 collaboration and was established in 1990. TV 2/Bornholm has an active website, broadcasts on its own channel 24 hours a day and transmits regional programmes using part of the national broadcasting network.

Ozkan Productions introduces Europes first OB van equipped with TRIMASTER EL and cent; OLED monitors

Turkish based Ozkan Productions today announced that it has equipped eight of its outside broadcasting vehicles with Sonys innovative technology solutions. As part of this investment, Ozkan Productions has upgraded its vans to include a number of Sonys High Definition cameras and video mixers. In its newest van, the company has also installed a total of 40 Sony TRIMASTER EL¢ OLED monitors (34 x 17 PVM-1741 / 6 x 25 PVM-2541 monitors). This is the first time in Europe an outside broadcast vehicle has been equipped solely with OLED monitors.

OMAN TV commences live transmission from new HD studios

Transmission has begun from Oman TVs new studio one where producers have started telecasting a 90 minute live programme.  The transmission represents a milestone in Sony Professional Solutions MEAs (PSMEA) landmark deal with the Public Authority for Radio and Television to equip the $69 million state-of-the-art High Definition studios at Oman TV Complex in Muscat and Salalah with the latest in HD broadcasting technology. The new programme telecast has been produced for the season of Ramadan and also runs every Friday for two hours. Sony PSMEA has also assisted Oman TV with its expertise in the form of operational support provided to the team of seven engineers and specialists to ensure that seamless transmission takes place.

IBC TV News chooses Sony XDCAM

Sony today announced that IBC TV News will shoot all its videos this year on Sony XDCAM.

IBC TV News is the official TV and webcasting channel of the broadcast conference and exhibition International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), which takes place in Amsterdam every year. The channel provides the conference with streamed news stories featuring industry experts and top exhibitors from the show floor, as well as the latest news from the conference. The content is distributed to displays across the conference site and via channels like YouTube and iTunes. IBC TV News can also be viewed by tuning into the Amsterdam cable TV channel AT5, which will be available in 10,000 hotel rooms during IBC2012.
