While previously supporting services from Akamai and Level3, users of Edgeware’s TV CDN are now able to supplement their content delivery with services from all major CDN providers.

Edgeware enables server-side dynamic ad insertion for Android devices
Edgeware, the pioneer of TV CDN technology, today announces Ad Enabler – a brand new product in its suite of origin tools. The product makes Edgeware’s ad insertion solution one of the first to support live OTT ad insertion on the MPEG-DASH standard – the native format for Android devices. Ad Enabler uses frame-accurate segmentation to allow an exact and seamless transition between content and ad frames, which can be used in server-side ad insertion (SSAI) for live OTT, live-to-VoD and time-shift TV services.

YouGov and Edgeware research finds forensic watermarking could half the losses from online video piracy

Edgeware, the pioneer of TV CDN technology, working alongside YouGov, an international data and analytics group with access to an online panel of five million people worldwide, has found that the billons lost to online piracy could be halved by putting in place anti-piracy measures. Edgeware’s research found that 50% of viewers who said they would watch pirated content, would be dissuaded from doing so if they knew a program they were watching could be tracked back to its source using forensic watermarking.

Verizon Digital Media Services expands network into South Africa, Mexico and France

Verizon Digital Media Services is pleased to announce international expansion plans for its award-winning Edgecast Content Delivery Network (CDN). The company has launched network points of presence (PoPs) in Mexico and in South Africa, with plans to open an additional Super PoP in France in Q1 2018. With these latest updates, the CDN now comprises more than 125 PoPs spanning 56 countries across six continents and has increased its network capacity by over 200 percent.
