Densitron and Sonifex announce audio and video display development collaboration
Densitron, a creator of HMI technologies, Broadcast intelligent display solutions, and a global leader in display, monitor, and embedded computing solutions and Sonifex, which manufactures broadcast audio equipment for radio, TV, and telecommunications, have announced a joint technical development initiative designed to tightly integrate Sonifex audio displays with a number of flagship Densitron reference monitors.

Densitron’s smartphone-like clarity and in-plane switching (IPS) technology is being modified to integrate with a new range of Sonifex devices soon to be unveiled.

However, Sonifex’s new Dante® AVN-CU2 and AVN-CU4 commentary units as well as its AVN multi-channel audio mix engines already now use Densitron colour LCD displays.

Sonifex CEO Marcus Brooke said, “We always actively seek opportunities to provide additional benefits to our customers and are particularly excited about sharing our latest audio interface and commentary unit developments with similar enhancements from Densitron. The integration of our respective technologies are significant value-adds to both product ranges.”

Oxygen DCT Launches New Colour Calibration Service For The Broadcast and Post Production Industry Posted: 22/12/2010
Oxygen DCT Launches New Colour Calibration Service For The Broadcast and Post Production Industry Oxygen DCT has launched a new service to help broadcasters and post production facilities re-align and maintain LCD picture monitors with the correct broadcast colourimetry.

Picture monitors drift from factory settings and need re-calibration because significant differences between the brightness and colour temperature of a group of monitors in a stack can be both irritating and tiring on the eyes. In the case of Grade One monitors, which are used for high-grade reference assessment of picture quality, post production and transmission, poor alignment can lead to problems with quality control if broadcast engineers cant tell if the monitor is at fault or the incoming signal.

New High End 7 Dual Input and Video Marshall Broadcast Monitor with Stereo Speakers The OR-701A takes the same multi-function waveform and Vectorscope features found in Marshall's OR-702 and adds full range audio speakers and a new vertical audio bar layout for real-time audio monitoring. Any two of the sixteen audio channels being de-embedded from the HDSDI source may be monitored through the built-in full range speakers. The same audio is available from balanced XLR outputs on the rear panel, along with the two front panel headphone jacks (3.5mm and 1/4'). Each audio output has its own level control. The front panel speakers have Volume, Balance and Mute controls that operate separately from the rear panel line and front panel headphone outputs.
