SPORTELMonaco 2019 - LiveU and Athletic Sports Group Team Up to Showcase Cost-Efficient Sports Content Contribution and amp; Distribution
LiveU and Athletic Sport Group (ASG) are joining forces to offer broadcasters and publishers a full service for sports production and the distribution of live content over IP. The solution offered by ASG Broadcast Services, incorporates LiveU’s cloud-based Matrix video distribution platform, which enables sports rightsholders and content owners to live stream their sporting event reliably and cost-effectively to multiple destinations and TV stations worldwide.

ASG Broadcast Services manages hundreds of live broadcasts around the world. The group originally used LiveU’s cost-effective contribution and distribution solutions for fight sports and now uses its technology for various sports properties, including football and the recent international distribution of the Swiss National Ice Hockey League.

“LiveU offers a great solution for our clients, delivering high-quality sports content to broadcasters and media outlets at a fraction of the cost of satellite or fibre transmissions. The Matrix platform will enable our clients to share their live feeds worldwide and from local sports teams within a single region so fans can experience the excitement of the game wherever they are,” said Nino Ockhuysen, Group CEO of ASG.

Primestream Showing Advanced Acquisition Capabilities at IBC2019 Posted: 20/09/2019
Primestream Showing Advanced Acquisition Capabilities at IBC2019

Primestream has expanded and enhanced its acquisition and ingest capabilities and will demonstrate them at IBC2019. For any media project, initial content acquisition is the most important stage in the workflow.

Cameras in the field need mobility, flexibility and reliability, especially in live and multi-cam situations. Control room operators need to monitor incoming content, as well as add information to support the asset management, editing, and distribution requirements later in the process. Even when moving files from an external storage location into the production environment, insufficient or erroneous metadata can be highly costly as the project moves forward.
