Emap and Holdan are delighted to announce that Tristan Hall is the winner of the BVE North's Show Video competition. Tristan wins a new Z10000 3D camcorder, courtesy of Holdan and Panasonic, a half day's training from F-Stop Academy and £1,000 in prize money.
After studying film at Bolton and Central Connecticut State Universities, Tristan became a freelance producer, editor and cameraman. He has exhibited short films at the Raindance, Edinburgh and Cannes film festivals and worked on such shows as Life on Mars and Shameless. Tristan is now a producer in the film department of UKFast, one of the country's premier web hosting companies.
Until now UKFast has relied on a tape-based HDV workflow. Taking possession of his new Panasonic camera, Tristan commented: "Im delighted to win the Z10000 and view it as the key trigger for integrating a fully tapeless, full HD workflow into our film department. The prospect of working in 3D is eye-watering and opens up a whole new world of incredible options for video content delivery to our audiences. I am over the moon about the result and would like to thank Holdan and BVE North."
Recording professional-quality 2D and 3D Images and with 3D macro shooting close-ups to 45cm, the Z10000 is a new generation of full HD stereoscopic camcorders. Its twin F1.5 lenses and dual array of 3MOS sensors deliver outstanding images, even at low light, in a compact hand-held package.
Richard Payne, Technical Business Director of Holdan, said: "For independent film making and corporate video, this is a terrific creative tool. Its adoption of AVCHD 2.0 makes for high quality recording, while its powerful zoom, armed with exposure, zoom and iris rings as well as its XLR audio inputs combine for a truly professional package."
