KitPlus TV: What is the difference in Thunderbolt, HDMI, DisplayPort and USB C?

Here's a quick look at some very exciting connectors that you might find on the ends of cables.

We will ignore the EGA, VGA and DVI connectors for now. Let's concentrate on the HDMI, Display Port, Thunderbolt and USB-C

Fundamentally we need to separate the protocols going on the wire from the physical connectors on
the copper cables

Now we see that there is commonality on the protocols, we find out that Thunderbolt and USB-C
basically go faster and allow more bi-directional modes

This is a good thing

Don't forget though. Just because the connector on the cable is the right shape for your device
it doesn't mean that the protocol will always work.
