The Kyrion is designed for contribution over fibre, OTT and satellite, and includes an ultra-fast- boot feature. It is upgradable to HEVC via a software update. Gerd Meyer, senior broadcast engineer at CBC, said: “We conducted a comprehensive evaluation of several solutions. With ultra-low latency mode and pristine H.264 video quality, Ateme Kyrion encoder and decoder were proven to be the best option.” At the same time Ateme has revealed that JSC Channel One Russia has selected its contribution technology to support international TV content exchange.
