STORAGE German broadcaster ZDF is adding an end-to-end media management workflow from EditShare to its broadcast studio locations in Bremen, Cairo, Istanbul, New York, Saarbrcken, Tel Aviv and Warsaw. Featuring a tiered storage environment with integrated production asset management, the move is part of a transition from a legacy tape-based set up. Once completed each ZDF studio location will be equipped with an EditShare XStream HT 32TB shared storage platform and Ark 24-slot LTO tape library. The integrated Flow production asset management application will also be used. The Editshare kit will be used in conjunction with existing Avid Newscutter and Panasonic P2-based card systems. COMMS A Riedel Communications’ Artist digital matrix and Performer digital partyline intercom systems are being installed in a new production facility being built in Los Angeles’ Playa Vista technology centre. Opening in February 2017, Vista Studios will feature 17,000 square feet of stages, full-service VR studios, and live broadcast facilities. The Riedel systems will provide communications across the entire Vista campus. The 4k-capable, IP-based facility will also serve as a technology and training centre for Riedel products. Vista Studios vice president of operations Mark Depping said: “Enabling fluid, flexible, and future-proof communications for all of our productions, Riedel technology will play a vital role in enabling our facility to solve the challenges producers face every day.” New Polecam SUPER SMPTE SUPER SMPTE Fibre AUDIO DISTRIBUTION Crystal Vision has released two audio distribution amplifiers for its new Vision frame system. Designed for distributing AES or Word Clock reference, the DADA-VF offers the choice of dual or single channel configuration (with four outputs per channel or eight outputs), reclocking or non-reclocking, 110 ohm or 75 ohm impedance and 32kHz to 192kHz sample rates. It is the first digital audio DA from Crystal Vision to include remote control. The AADA-VF analogue audio distribution amplifier allows the flexible distribution of analogue audio in any broadcast environment. The AADA-VF features two separate audio distribution amplifiers, each with an electronically balanced input and four floating outputs which are very robust. Each output also has an individual line driver. Crystal Vision managing director Philip Scofield said: “As part of the growing range of products that can be fitted into the Vision 3 frame, the amplifiers allow you to build a system using current technologies that is ready for the future.” Polecam friendly V Mount 2 x 3G-HD with bi-directional data 3G-HD return signal PAL signal for syncs 2x Audio channels 60watts of power Signal indicator lights 3G SDI 3G SDI 3G SDI 3G SDI 3G SDI 3G SDI PAL PAL RS232 RS232 RS422/485* (Please Specify) (PleaseSpecify) Audio 1** CAMERA Polecam Data PolecamData Audio 4 12V (60w) BASE STATION RS422 /485* (PleaseSpecify) Audio 1** PolecamData Audio 2 Audio 3 SMPTE Audio 2 V MOUNT Audio 3 Audio 4 48V +44 (0) 1234 855 222 KITPLUS - THE TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 121 January 2017 | 17
