The new LV7390-OP20 4k upgrade includes HDR measurement capabilities for the Hybrid Log Gamma, Dolby PQ and Sony SLOG-3 protocols. Kevin Salvidge, Leader’s European regional development manager, said: “This capability plus a compact 1U form-factor makes the LV7390 ideal for production environments that cannot accommodate a full size waveform monitor.” Also included with the 4k HDR upgrade is Leader’s CINEZONE HDR. This uses false colour to display areas of the image extending into HDR so that it can be used on non-HDR monitors. The LV7390 is a 3G/HD/ SD-SDI rasterizer that can be deployed on a desktop or rack-mounted in order to measure up to four source channels at the same time. At the same time Leader has appointed Wokingham-based Broadcast Service Centre (BSC) as its Accredited Service Partner for Europe. leader.co.jp 22 | KITPLUS - THE TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 119 NOVEMBER 2016 STORAGE Quantum has unveiled a tape storage platform called Scalar and three associated library products. The Scalar intelligent tape libraries, called Scalar i3, Scalar i6 and StorNext AEL6 appliance, are designed to help media facilities manage and store both legacy content and new content from different sources in data-intensive formats including UHD (Ultra High Definition), HDR (High Dynamic Range) and HFR (High Frame Rates). They are said to be very dense, reducing the overall storage footprint and, in turn, lessening a facilities’ power and cooling requirements. Dave Frederick, the senior director of media and entertainment at Quantum, said: “The industry-leading density and advanced features of our new Scalar and StorNext AEL tape archives make it easier and more cost-effective for media companies to hold onto more content - content they might once have thrown away but that could have future value - and to manage the much larger files generated by the shift toward UHD, HDR and HFR.” quantum.com Watch now!
