NEWS MANAGE & MONITOR INTERFACES MULTI-VIEWERS Axon Digital Design (stand 10.A21/B21) will launch a new version of its SynView modular multi-viewer at IBC that is capable of handling both 4k and any IP video format. Designed for use as a standalone unit or as part of an Axon Synapse signal processing system, the new SynView can be used on both big and small monitoring walls. A single field latency (20ms@50Hz and 16,7ms@59.94Hz) multi-view system, it can be combined with over 300 different processing modules. SynView will be made available in two basic models, each available in two versions (SDI I/O or Ethernet I/O). Both versions can be mixed and matched to build a hybrid multi- viewer with up to hundreds of inputs and eight 1080p heads (on SDI) or two heads with UHD/4k resolution. DekTec (stand 2.B40) will demonstrate its hardware and software components for manufacturers of digital broadcast equipment at IBC. One of the key demos will feature the DTU-351, a low-cost and portable USB-3 device that optimises delivery of HD-SDI signals to laptops, tablets and PCs. The bus-powered unit requires no power supply, reducing OPEX and speeding up T&M operations. Said to simplify the transfer of full SDI frames, the DTU-351 enables access to 16 audio channels and other HANC and VANC packets. When used in combination with DekTec’s SdEye Software, the DTU-351 becomes a portable SDI analysis tool. Other products on display at IBC will include a video-centric 10GbE adapter, 12 x SDI/ASI and 12G BNC interfaces for OEM 4k/UHD applications and an H.264 encoder. CABLING Argosy (stand 10.C51), the supplier of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure products, will be attending IBC with a portfolio that it says “solidifies its transformation from a passive technology infrastructure vendor to a fully-fledged infrastructure provider.” To support broadcast engineers dealing with pressing industry trends such as IP convergence, Argosy plans to showcase racks, mains distribution units, patch panels, KVM solutions, fibre and Ensemble Design active video gear with a focus on intelligent technology. A particular focus will put on intelligent mains distribution units (MDUs) and KVM switches which enable engineers to centrally monitor and control equipment and make facilities more flexible and responsive, easier to maintain and above all, more energy efficient.
