NEWS CAPTURE & PRODUCE CAMERAS At IBC the Canon stand will provide visitors with the opportunity to get hands-on with Canon’s Full HD, 4k and HDR products, through a variety of end-to-end workflow scenarios – from shooting experiences, to review and editing processes, including innovative low- light and long distance live shooting demos. Since its inception in 2011, Canon’s Cinema EOS range has been instrumental in transforming the professional video industry – with a range of innovations, including Dual Pixel CMOS AF for effective autofocus, leading sensor technology and advances in resolution. In April 2016, Canon saw the family of Cinema EOS products expand further with the launch of the versatile ME200S- SH, a compact professional multi-purpose video camera, and CN-E18-80mm T4.4 L IS, a compact cinema EOS lens with cine-servo style functionality. Both will be on display for touch and try, for the first time in Europe. PROTECTION The new Peli Air Case range has been designed and engineered to maintain the same level of durability, but reduce the weight of each case by up to 40 percent. Air cases are waterproof and crushproof and offer additional sizes to the Peli Protector and Peli Storm case lines. Initially available in six sizes, Peli Air cases are constructed of premium lightweight HPX2 resin, the next generation of Peli’s proprietary formula that rebounds from stress without breaking. Additional models are currently in development with more than 20 new sizes coming over the next 18 months. Each case passes the same rigorous performance tests that Peli has subjected its cases to for 40 years. Peli Air cases will be available in several configurations: Case No Foam, with Pick N Pluck™ foam, with Padded Dividers (redesigned with a fully-sewn tub, felt surfaces and high-vis yellow interior) and with TrekPak™system; a completely new divider system with rigid, customizable panels. At the show, broadcast and cinematography professionals will be able to get hands-on with Canon’s full range of 4k, Full HD and HDR products including the prestigious Cinema EOS Range, stunning reference display units and broadcast solutions. Visitors can experience the full power of the company’s optics portfolio, with Canon’s extensive range of lenses, from broadcast to cinema and EF lenses. SOUND RECORDING Sound Devices and Ambient Recording have announced that their products can now work together to provide wireless remote control and enhanced workflow functionality for 6-Series mixer/recorders. Through a firmware update, the link-up allows the 633, 664, and 688 mixer/recorders to be remotely controlled by Ambient Recording’s Master Lockit Web interface, while ingesting critical metadata into the ACN Network System. Along with remote transport control, metadata editing and timecode functionality are also possible. 12 | KITPLUS - THE TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 116 AUGUST 2016
