NEWS MANIPULATE & EDIT GRAPHICS At Broadcast Asia ChyronHego demonstrated LyricX, a 64-bit version of its Lyric graphics creation and playout product. LyricX is powered by ChyronHego’s HX graphics platform. A central component of LyricX is an all-new keyboard/control surface that exposes all the familiar Lyric functions and offers programmable LCD keys that can be configured for any use case. With the revamped user interface in LyricX, users can configure screens for specific programmes and switch between these individual environments. Also on show was Channel Box Prime, which is used for channel branding, and version 4.3 of CAMIO, the graphics asset management system. LOUDNESS Linear Acoustic used Broadcast Asia to tout its SDI xNode as a “crucial bridge” that allows TV facilities to take advantage of fully distributed I/O and AoIP for HD/SD-SDI signals. Linear Acoustic vice president of global sales Chris Shaw said: “More and more TV broadcasters are choosing AoIP networks to replace aging TDM and analogue plants. The SDI xNode gives them the missing link they’ve been asking for: an easy-to-use device that allows translation of SD and HD SDI audio channels to routable, uncompressed AoIP audio streams with full broadcast quality.” An SDI xNode can de-embed multiple channels of audio from its dual SDI inputs, taking audio from SD and HD SDI streams, and translating it to real-time Livewire+/AES67 audio streams. These can then be routed to an AERO.soft Processing Engine or to destinations throughout the facility. KVM Visitors to Broadcast Asia were the first in the Asia Pacific region to see the new AdderLink XDIP extender from Adder Technology. The AdderLink XDIP is an IP-based KVM extension technology that allows small IP matrices to be created without the need for a separate manager or control system. Each device features an on-board configuration interface for setup and to make live changes. The device also features feed-through ports, which are ideal for AV applications. Another feature of the XDIP is that each end point can be either a receiver (RX) or transmitter (TX) allowing customers to fluidly reconfigure their installation without the need for additional devices.
