OTT Comigo and Keepixo have launched a new OTT offering that consists of Comigo’s OTT/IPTV platform, HEVC Android set-top boxes, the Comigo Experience Intelligence Engine, and Keepixo’s Genova software suite for OTT/IPTV headends. It is suggested that the combination will provide pay-TV service providers with the components necessary for quickly launching OTT services. “One of the key challenges that IPTV and OTT service providers face today is launching full multiscreen services with advanced capabilities ahead of the competition,” said Motty Lentzitzky, chief executive at Comigo. “By partnering with Keepixo, we are reducing integration complexity and bringing to market an HEVC- and MPEG- DASH-supported solution, allowing service providers to dramatically speed up time to market and significantly reduce bandwidth costs.” The combo was on show at the TV Connect Show in London. FIBRE Bluebell Opticom has introduced the BCX-760 Series 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) point-to-point fibre link, a camera-back interface that allows connection and signal transport between a camera and an OB truck or a base station. The BCX-760 interface maps all signals presented at the back of any broadcast camera onto a 10GbE point-to-point link. “This is not the industry’s first camera- back interface, but it is the first to rely on 10 Gigabit Ethernet, which provides real-time uncompressed 3G-SDI with full control (RS232/422/485 and GigE) and genlock in both directions, from the camera and back to the camera,” said Paul Felix McCann, managing director of Bluebell Opticom. “The BCX-760 is fully symmetrical and uses industry-standard, 10G Ethernet SFP modules -- copper or fibre so it reduces the cost. This is a brand- new approach to transporting front-end content for high-quality television. Remote production is the future, and the BCX-760 Series is yet another way Bluebell is contributing to the evolution of the industry.” VIDEO OVER IP LiveU has adopted NewTek’s open Network Device Interface (NDI) standard for its LU2000 bonded video transceiver. The NDI-enabled LU2000 will be recognisable as a source by other NDI-enabled devices and systems connected to a standard Ethernet local area network. The integration will enable broadcasters to receive their feeds over IP networks directly from the LiveU LU2000 bonded video transceiver, including the automatic discovery of available feeds. With NDI, broadcasters can also implement a remote production setup with multiple cameras equipped with LiveU field units that communicate back to the studio.
