Archive and storage The latest version of FlashNet, an update to FlashNet archive control and disaster recovery workflows will all be on show when SGL (stand ZK2-22) exhibit at this year’s CabSat show in Dubai. The latest version of the FlashNet content management product allows users to allocate a pre-defined number of drives within their library for a specific role such as archiving Avid jobs only, or restoring/archiving material at a certain time of day. This is said to allow large broadcasters with multiple drives to further improve operational procedures. The updated FlashNet archive control expands to provide support for Avid Web Services and Sony Optical Disc Archive (ODA). SGL will also announce support for LTO-7 at the show. MAM At BVE (Stand F34) Suitcase TV will launch its storage platform MediaStor as a stand-alone product for the first time. The company will also showcase iphrame Vision Remote, a centralised production system that received the IABM Design & Innovation Award at IBC. MediaStor is a software defined storage platform that gathers multiple storage servers into a single unified structure. It includes optional HSM functions to enable the use of different levels of storage from ultra-fast SSD-based RAID down to LTO data tape. Iphrame Vision Remote is part of the iphrame suite; a range of software applications that enable combined SDI and IP-based operations during OB and live event coverage. Cloud storage At BVE 2016 (Stand H39) ERA will highlight its portfolio of cloud services and unveil new hosted storage options for content management and long-term archiving. Also new is Cloud Archive, ERA’s large- scale hosted option for long-term storage and media archive which uses TMD’s Paragon archive management technology to provide a simple intuitive user interface to store content in the cloud and access it for future use. Cloud Archive has an advanced API for business system integration and supporting AS-11.
