NEWS CAPTURE & PRODUCE 3D tracking Vitec Videocom has agreed terms on an exclusive sales and distribution deal that will see it market and sell Ncam Technologies’ 3D tracking solution to the global broadcast market. The Ncam camera tracking system features a multi-sensor camera bar that is unobtrusively mounted on the camera. Through its tracking server, Ncam provides real-time, position and rotation information, plus focal length and focus via industry standard protocols compatible with any VR/AR graphics system. It is suitable for a wide range of applications both indoors, outdoors and across all camera rigs, including handheld and spring arm type stabilisers. The product combines patent pending multi-sensor hybrid technology and is said to “provide a robust solution in mission critical situations.” Videocom will market the product to its existing global customer base and through selected channels and partners worldwide. Digital video workflows AJA Video Systems announced a host of new Mini- Converters at NAB. The FiDO-4T-ST and FiDO-4R-ST enable quad-channel SDI to ST Fibre and ST Fibre to SDI, allowing Fibre transmission of 4K and UHD signals. The HA5-4K converts UHD/HD HDMI to 4x 3G-SDI. “AJA Mini-Converters are constantly working around the clock to hold together post, broadcast and production workfl ows,” said Nick Rashby, president, AJA Video Systems. “These products are the grease in the gears of any digital video environment, and with our new FiDO boxes and HA5- 4K were making it simpler than ever before to streamline pipelines in multi-format environments.” The FiDO-4T-ST and FiDO-4R-ST have the ability to send signals from a 4K/ UHD source, such as from AJA’s CION camera, up to 10 kilometers. The quad-signal path also allows for multiple HD signals to be carried across long distances. DSLRs Ianiro has introduced a series of high quality 2-channel XLR adapters for DSLR and small system cameras. The range includes an audio module dedicated to Blackmagic Cinema cameras and a unit that pairs with Canon, Panasonic, Nikon and Panasonic DSLRs. In each case, controls are ergonomically designed with large knobs and simple switches to set the system up. Units, such as the AX-107, deliver 12/48v Phantom power to microphones and feature output jacks for headphone monitoring and connection to the camera’s audio input, plus a convenient auxiliary socket. Each input channel can be independently controlled while audio levels are monitored via a small display screen.
