Intercom Riedel Communications will use BVE 2015 (Stand F24) to demo the capabilities of Tango TNG-200, the company’s first networked communications platform to support AES67 and AVB. Equipped with a high-resolution, full-colour TFT display, Tango has front-panel controls for recalling pre-sets and adjusting audio levels. Other features include two integrated Riedel digital partylines, two AES67- and AVB-compatible ports, two Ethernet ports, one option slot, and redundant power supplies. A dedicated intercom application, called My First Riedel, turns Tango into an intercom system that can be configured according to user needs. Its asymmetric 40 x 80 matrix size allows for standard premium-quality stereo audio connections to panels. “The Tango Communications platform builds on our philosophy that the customer should have a choice in what standards they embrace,” said Paul Rivens, Riedel’s UK general manager. The company will also show its next generation Smartpanel and the STX-200 Skype interface at BVE. Stand F24 Systems integration Stand J50 WTS, the global systems integrator and broadcast equipment supplier, is close to completing two new HD OB trucks, and two support vehicles, for SuperSport Africa. The OB trucks will be equipped with Snell Sirius 830 multi-format routers, IQ Modular infrastructure and Snell control. One OB truck and support vehicle will be based in Nigeria (OB2) with the second in Zambia (OB6). The vehicles, the sixth and seventh HD OB trucks built by WTS for SuperSport, are built on 40ft rigid Mercedes chassis in order to cope with the rough terrain they will experience on location. Each will have double expanding sides and include 14 plus four camera capability. “As with the previous HD OB trucks WTS supplied to SuperSport, we have made ease of control the core attribute of these two new vehicles,” said WTS sales director Ben Murphy. Sound kit Stand C45 Location sound recordist Paul Zanders will use BVE 2015 (Stand C45) to unveil a two-stage carbon fibre monopod that fits to any sound bag. Described as a “game changer for location sound recordists” the 740g foldable Dedleg can be deployed in seconds in three moves, enabling the user to take the weight off his or her shoulders and back. Zanders said: “You carry in your bag a sophisticated recording studio. You are able to record to multiple tracks with embedded metadata and timecode stamps. You have the power to mix numerous inputs and outputs to achieve perfect audio. Most of the time you have to do all this with one hand in a bag you wear around your neck. It’s about time you got some support.” Dedleg has a carry case and fits to any sound bag via clips attached to the bag’s D rings. Dedleg Designs is currently looking for overseas resellers.   Flick further into the magazine to read the full story of Dedlegs.
