It was also important to offer our client, ZBC TV studios, suitable future expansion for their increasing workloads. After evaluating several manufacturers, we decided on MW Video Systems, who were extremely good in designing our console, racks and media wall with great looks to suit our needs.  They worked closely with our engineering requirements which had an overall impact with us and more importantly our client, ZBC”. The PDA 5280 multi-format (3G/HD/SD-SDI) module is part of the Series 5000 card and rack-based series and offers signal processing versatility and various transcoding choices. The unit automatically detects the input signal and switches its operation to the appropriate format. The module transcodes a DolbyE audio stream, or encodes a 2.0 PCM audio stream, into a Dolby Digital or Digital Plus stream. This stream can then simultaneously be routed to any of the audio outputs, whether embedded or external. It offers 32-channel audio processing with adjustable gain, phase, invert, sum and mute features. In addition, each channel offers audio overload and silence detection, as well as a test tone generator. At BVE 2015, the company will also showcase Testor Lite 3G, a hand held touch- screen multi-format test signal generator. Transcoding Metus has updated its Windows-based desktop multimedia capture, transcoding, and streaming software INGEST so that it now works with Apple ProRes. The enhancement, available in version, allows users to record up to four channels of full quality streams while simultaneously creating proxy files. “Metus will greatly accelerate Apple-based post production and archiving workflows,” said Mustafa Yilmaz, managing director of Metus. Clips can be edited directly in Final Cut Pro X or archived for fast retrieval and re-purposing. Supported ProRes formats include ProRes 422, ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422 LT, and ProRes 422 Proxy.
