NEWS MOVE & DELIVER Cabling Cable specialist VDC Trading has formed a partnership with UK wide electrical specialist Edmundson Electrical. The agreement will see VDC act as a full partner in the business providing technical and sales support, tendering, and the production and supply of, audio, video and data cabling from its London headquarters. At BVE, the company will team up with its channel partner, Boxer Systems, to provide an insight to its strategic development focus on this UK-based broadcast industry initiative. Live on the show fl oor, Telestream will demonstrate how its Vantage transcoding and workfl ow automation system provides UK broadcasters and facilities with a clear competitive advantage in developing their DPP enterprise operations. The latest version (6.3) of Vantage adds several new capabilities for assembling and encoding DPP AS-11 MXF fi les. The Vantage DPP Workfl ow Portal allows entry of DPP metadata and the creation of multi-part DPP packages from one or more media fi les. Vantage Post Producer automatically assembles the DPP timeline, including bars, tones, slates and correct multi-part spacing. The entire DPP solution is completely unifi ed and includes full encoding, timeline rendering and metadata assembly without requiring editing personnel or XML programmers. Networked live production Axon Digital Design has been presented with the IABM Peter Wayne Design and Innovation Award for Neuron, a networked live media production system based on open standard Ethernet AVB with multiple IP switches and interfaces to third party products. The Peter Wayne Award for Design & Innovation recognises new products and technologies that offer a signifi cant contribution to the broadcast and media industry. Axon was selected for the accolade from a list of 14 nominated companies.
