NEWS MOVE & DELIVER Channel distribution Video contribution AVIWEST has launched a new smartphone app for its DMNG PRO video uplink system for TV newsgathering. The app allows journalists to confi gure, control and deploy DMNG PRO, reducing the time required to get news to air. The free app is currently available for Android- based devices. An iOS version will follow. Chief executive Erwan Gasc said: “Through the DMNG Remote application, journalists in the fi eld can instantly connect to a DMNG PRO video uplink system without setting down their gear, enabling live news and event coverage to be broadcast instantly, from any location around the world.“ Crystal Vision’s latest video distribution amplifi ers will bring fi nancial savings when working with many channels in multi-standard big systems, the company has said. The dual channel modular 3GDA204R and 3GDA210R provide distribution of 3Gb/s, HD or SD sources, with signal re- clocking and jitter performance as well as signal reporting. The 3GDA204R offers two outputs of each channel and is a single slot solution for those who need to double the outputs on more than one video feed, saving engineers rack space by allowing 24 channels to fi t in 2U. For those requiring fi ve outputs of each channel, the ‘double decker’ 3GDA210R offers cost savings compared to using two of the company’s single channel DAs and fi ts 12 channels in 2U. All outputs are DVB-ASI compatible. TV over IP Anevia’s ViaMotion Suite now supports high quality streaming of media content via the Internet using conventional HTTP web servers, it has been announced. A new multi-DRM (digital rights management) capability has also being integrated into ViaMotion enabling high-level protection against unauthorized access to subscriber-based streamed television services. Anevia chief technology offi cer Damien Lucas said: “This is a level of service versatility that goes far beyond the capabilities of traditional terrestrial and satellite-to-home transmission. It includes the ability to stream secure content over HbbTV as a secondary live source, current programme start-over, catchup replays or even video-on-demand.“ 34 | KITPLUS - THE TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 95 NOVEMBER 2014 TV-BAY095NOV14.indd 34 06/11/2014 13:05
