NEWS NAB PlayBox Technology P layBox Technology announces the completion of a large system expansion at the headquarters of Romanian broadcaster Neptun TV. “PlayBox Technology has worked with us as a partner for many years and was there at every important step we made in developing our production and playout infrastructure,” states Neptune TV’s Executive Manager Dan Dumitru. “In our fi rst few years of operation we have expanded our resources and our reach, opening a new studio in Bucharest and sourcing content from reporters in every major city in the country. Many Romanian households now possess full 1080- line television receivers and can appreciate the high image detail HD offers compared with 625-line standard defi nition. This year we have made a new agreement with Playbox in changing all our playout and graphics machines to the latest versions. These give us greater effi ciency, more storage capacity and very high reliability, enabling our production and presentation staff to work faster and with very high confi dence.” A leader in the production of innovating camera support solutions, Miller Camera Support, LLC, is hosting a charitable raffle event at the 2014 NAB Show as part of the company’s 60 th anniversary celebrations. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the NAB Education Foundation. First exhibited at NAB 2013, the LV5490 now incorporates test-pattern generation, support for two-sample interleaved 4K image transmission and an HD-SDI output. New options include eye-pattern, jitter measurement and ITU-R BT2020 based chromaticity diagram. Optional 8-channel Dolby- encoded audio analysis is expected to be introduced during Q2 2014.
