Bridging the data gap W ireless data links are becoming common-place in the production community: with cameras now featuring proxy file streaming and H.264 on-camera encoders delivering full HD images live. With the launch of IntraTec’s range of wireless transmitters and receivers, portable data devices are taken to a new height, with its new devices able to send fast streams of live data over distances of up-to 10 kilometres and enabling remote production crews exceptionally fast internet connectivity. Distributed in the UK and Europe by Holdan Limited, IntraTec’s solutions are ideal for camera crews that need live HD feeds from remote cameras such as in airborn or extreme sports productions - or backhaul data over significant distances without the benefit of wired connections. IntraTec also delivers powerful direct-to-the-internet data solutions for remote production crews that need to upload and download large media files. 1080p functionality at no extra charge I n a bold move designed to facilitate the transition to fully progressive workflows, Snell have announced that it will now offer 1080p functionality at no additional charge for all 1080p-capable products, thereby bringing down one of the most significant barriers to the adoption of 3Gbps equipment: extra cost.
