A plethora of new broadcast products O xygen DCT’s recently launched Evolution ProFlex monitors were on show at IBC as part of a range of new products that the company will be debuting for the first time in Europe.  The latest addition to Oxygen DCTs popular Evolution Pro range, the low cost, high performance Evolution ProFlex is targeted at more budget conscious installations by offering broadcast picture quality at consumer pricing levels.  There are seven different sizes in the range, from a super 9.7 to a high performance 10 bit, 1.06 billion colour 55 model and an enormous 70 screen.  Unlike consumer screens, these monitors are a consistent ergonomic design that will not change model or design as occurs in the consumer market. They also have broadcast colour reproduction with adjustable colour controls, contrast and backlight setting allowing broadcast users to colour match panels together.    Unveilling Aston 3D I ndustry-leading real-time 3D interactive graphics and virtual set provider Brainstorm Multimedia has for the first time unveiled its next-generation creation, CG and graphics playout solution, Aston 3D, at IBC. The new Aston 3D is a 100 percent Brainstorm-developed product that builds on the Aston heritage of reliability and simplicity to create a new platform based on Brainstorms acclaimed eStudio engine the industry’s fastest on-air graphics and virtual studio render engine. The result is a graphics creation system specifically designed to operate at the heart of a design department, able to fulfil any broadcast graphics requirement. Create / deliver MXF AS-11 files Each screen is equipped with the latest, high performance LCD panels and low energy LED backlighting. ProFlex monitors are designed to be flexible with control from either rear mounted buttons or a plug-in remote control panel. The Digital Production Partnerships MXF AS-11 standard sets out the minimum core metadata specification for file-based contributions to UK broadcasters. Developed in conjunction with the Advanced Media Workflow Association, the vendor-neutral file format for finished material defines the essential metadata set and program segmentation information.
