Its unprecedented power enables users to write to its four built-in LTO-5 drives concurrently, all at full speed. At the launch of the product, Ben Pearce, Sales and Marketing Director of GB Labs said: An archiving device with multiple tape drives each backing up 1.5TB of data is a tempting prospect for media organizations. However, the reality is that few existing appliances can sustain the native 140MBs write speed of a single drive, let alone to write to four tapes. In what we believe to be a first, we are proud to launch Space LTO with four built-in drives, all working at full throttle.
