What is the process?

Verification is completed in two simple steps.

Step 1: Pay the one-time verification fee (£3).
Step 2: Complete the identity check with Stripe.

You will need a passport, driving licence or national ID card. The process is easiest to complete on a mobile phone and usually takes around a minute.

Once approved, you will be returned to KitPlus and can continue creating and managing your listings.

Why is Identity Verification Needed?

Identity verification gives buyers confidence that sellers are genuine and helps reduce the risk of fraudulent listings and scam activity on the platform.

How do I get Verified?

Once the verification fee has been paid, you will be guided through a quick identity check using photo ID such as a passport, driving licence or national ID card.

Identity verification is carried out by Stripe, who are PCI-certified to Level 1, the highest level in the payments industry, and comply with international data privacy regulations.

KitPlus does not store copies of any documents submitted during verification.

Why do I have to pay to get Verified?

Unfortunately, identity verification is not free for KitPlus to provide.

We appreciate that additional costs are never ideal, so we have set the one-time fee as low as possible to help existing sellers get verified.

The fee may increase in future, so we recommend existing sellers complete verification sooner rather than later.

Given the additional trust and confidence it provides to buyers, we believe the fee represents excellent value for legitimate sellers.

What changes once I've Verified?

As soon as verification is approved, all of your listings will automatically display a Verified Seller badge.

Buyers will be able to see that you have completed identity checks and can purchase with greater confidence

You will also continue to create and manage listings for our community of broadcasting professionals.

What happens if I DON'T get Verified? 

Existing listings will remain live on the site for the foreseeable future (although this may change in future).

However:

• Listings will display an Unverified Seller badge
• Buyers will be informed that identity verification has not been completed
• You will not be able to create new listings
• You will not be able to edit existing listings, other than marking them as sold or removing them

Am I protected if I buy from a verified seller

No. KitPlus does not guarantee or insure any transaction, whether the seller is verified or unverified.

Verification simply means the seller has successfully completed a secure identity check through Stripe. This uses bank-grade security measures, including biometric face matching and official ID authentication, to confirm the seller is a real person.

Verification does not guarantee a seller’s business practices, the condition of an item, or that a transaction will proceed successfully.

For additional protection, we offer a full escrow service through our partner Trustap that you may wish to use to provide full security in any transcation.
