NAB Review
As I emerge from the customary post-NAB haze and try to formulate a coherent analysis of the 2016 show, perhaps the most striking realisation is that despite pacing the halls for four long days, I barely scratched the surface. The scale of the event, much like Las Vegas itself, is simply extraordinary, with over 100,000 attendees and nearly 1900 exhibitors. Right from the first morning of the show, my social media feeds have been full of reviews of amazing products and technical advancements, many of which I just didnt get time to see. Here, however, are some highlights of the things I did manage to get to. |

Back to the future

I was recently talking to the estimable James Gilbert, who runs the equally estimable graphics and automation specialist Pixel Power. He said something that made me think.
We were talking about scalability, and he said that it works in two directions. There is the sort of scalability that we all readily understand, and which is so beloved of marketing copywriters. |

Vegas Baby!
So last month was NAB in Las Vegas, and I got to go!
Now I'd never been to the States before. I really didn't know what to expect. Other than not being allowed in bars or casinos as I'm under 21. And trucks on the road, larger meal portions and a favourable exchange rate.
