Why a new range of cases?
N/A Surprisingly we discovered that some bags and cases - even very popular and well established models - lacked basic features required for Northern Europe, such as wet weather protection. These may be fine in drier climates but for wet Novembers in Ireland or damp spring mornings in Wales, these bags were, in our view, putting equipment at risk.

As we exit the year, however, we do expect to see better signs of market improvement with a more promising 2011 and 2012. How prescient. Packed aisles at February's Broadcast Video Expo seemed to show all the signs of a real upturn in the industry.

Lighting up Yorkshire
Kieron Seth# The Yorkshire town of Rawmarsh looks like an easy target. Its trolley buses have come and gone and its two train stations were both wrapped up more than 40 years ago. For many years, it was the home of potters and steel workers; it was a mining town from the 15th century, an industry that survived over 500 years until it was closed by a certain ruthless Prime Minister... you know who - yes, Jim Callaghan in 1978.
