Broadcast test & measurement innovator PHABRIX has announced the availability of the latest update, V4.8, for its acclaimed Qx and QxL rasterizers.

Utilizing PHABRIX patented technology, this new class of waveform Instrumentation delivers all the fine detail needed for camera shading or image grading while retaining the flexibility of real-time operation and support for the wide range of SDR and HDR SDI and IP video formats for which PHABRIX is famous.

Ikegami reports ongoing broadcast and professional media innovation throughout 2022 including the Unicam UHK-X750 IP-capable UHD HDR HFR camera plus the R2 Real Remote production system.

"UHD-HDR has replaced UHD-SDR as the default standard for consumer TV displays," says Michael Lätzsch, Broadcast & Professional Video Division Manager at Ikegami Electronics (Europe) GmbH. "This in turn has encouraged broadcast-focused production companies to invest in UHD-HDR camera systems. UHD-HDR content is becoming increasingly available online from dedicated streaming channels. A growing number of broadcasters are also supplementing their HD-SDR terrestrial and satellite transmissions with online UHD-SDR content."

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) today announced that it will be highlighting the global Pro AV market’s increasing adoption of Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX™) — a set of open standards-based protocols designed to ensure interoperability for AV-over-IP systems — at ISE 2023, Jan. 31 to Feb. 3 in Barcelona, Spain. Visitors to AIMS’ Booth 5J550 will see IPMX-based hardware and software working together seamlessly in live demonstrations hosted by AIMS members and IPMX collaborators. Highlights will include HDCP running on IPMX, IPMX bridging to HDBaseT, and the capabilities and benefits of AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05.

Ikegami announces the integration of eight UHK-430 camera systems at Thai Parliament Television (TPTV), the national assembly radio and television broadcasting station of Thailand. The cameras are now in full use at the recently completed Sappaya-Sapasathan parliament house in Bangkok, allowing 4K broadcast quality coverage of legislative proceedings.

AIMS API, a global company specialising in AI-powered music similarity search and music tagging, has strengthened its marketing team with the appointment of Katie Thompson to the position of Marketing Manager.

Formerly marketing and client manager at boutique music label The Nerve and marketing and event manager at production music specialist Audio Network, Thompson has over eight years’ experience in B2B marketing. Little Bay Broadcast Services, one of New Hampshire's leading broadcast system integrators, has chosen Ikegami UHK-X700 cameras for a television studio upgrade on behalf of a major corporate client. Three cameras plus control equipment, viewfinders, lenses and teleprompters have been ordered for use in broadcast-grade content production and webcasting.

The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) today announced that it has expanded its membership access to individuals such as consultants, engineers, and educators including sole employees or sole proprietors of a corporation and individuals who do not formally represent any company within the media industry. The new membership level is also open to students, researchers, and others actively associated with an institution of higher education.

After successfully launching its workspace for video production teams at IBC 2022, Limecraft announced at SATIS 2022 today the next version of its online platform, now including self-service onboarding and account management. Limecraft's aim is to become the premier workspace for small and medium-sized production companies.

Ikegami will show the latest additions to its product range at Inter BEE 2022. Central themes of its demonstrations will be new advances in virtual and remote production developed in response to changing production styles resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. Ikegami's R2 Real Remote production system allows highly efficient remote camera operation between the studio and the sub-control room as well as ensuring social distancing and studio crowd avoidance when necessary to guard against infection, particularly in close-up sequences. It is designed for use with cameras such as the compact full broadcast quality UHD/HD Ikegami UHL-43. Support is provided by a six-axis programmable articulated robot arm mounted on a motorised pedestal. This combination allows fast and easy changes in camera height from a minimum of 400 mm to a maximum of 2,350 mm above floor level. The R2 can be relocated easily from one studio to another.
