Teradek Launches Ultra Low Latency Video Monitoring Solution with AWS Wavelength and amp; Verizon
  • Teradek Core Cloud customers in the U.S. can now monitor with lower latency than ever before on the Verizon 5G network
  • This improved monitoring experience results from a partnership between Amazon’s AWS Wavelength, Verizon, and Teradek
  • Glass to glass latency as low as 160ms

IRVINE, Calif. — In a recent collaboration with Verizon and Amazon Web Services Teradek, a member of the Vitec Group’s Creative Solutions division, announced a new ultra-low latency monitoring server for their Core cloud service: Wavelength Sputnik.

Wavelength Sputnik is a new integration that puts Teradek’s streaming video server (Sputnik) on the Verizon 5G network, dramatically reducing streaming video latency when paired with Teradek hardware, software, and Core Cloud platform. The integration provides a 50% performance improvement over Teradek’s existing low latency options, coming in at a lightning fast 160ms glass to glass.

Matysiak Picks New Lenses and Tiffen Filters for an Unforgiving Western Look on Old Henry Posted: 10/11/2021
Matysiak Picks New Lenses and Tiffen Filters for an Unforgiving Western Look on and quot;Old Henry and quot;

Reaching for a historic lens is an almost instinctive choice for modern cinematographers, especially those keen to transport an audience back in time. On Old Henry, cinematographer John Matysiak took a different approach to creating a realistically harsh and unforgiving world for director Potsy Ponciroli's western. Inspired by photographers of the time, Matysiak used carefully chosen Tiffen diffusion filters to control contrast and sharpness while also enjoying the consistency and speed of precise modern lenses.

Meeting the specification
Chris Smeeton

A good technical specification will detail precisely what is required, from the equipment to the cables connecting it. Many specifications will give  particular manufacturers and model numbers. On many occasions, this makes tendering simple and gives vendors a secure and fair way to bid.

HOLLYLAND LARK 150 Review
Phil Vinter

The exponential growth of video supercharged a technological revolution that began in the early noughties with the advent of DSLR cameras.
The cinematic-style shallow depth of field image video quality from DSLRs was a revelation, but, back then audio was the big drawback. As demand has grown so the technology has improved and today’s one-man-band small rig set ups can capture pretty good sound into a DSLR style camera.

Phil Vinter reviews the latest release from HOLLYLAND and it's a thumbs up from us.
